About

Agenda: Rebuilding Social Cohesion and Safeguarding Human Rights in Post-Assad Syria.

After years of brutal dictatorship, Syria stands fractured, not only in its cities and institutions, but in its very social fabric. Though the fall of Assad opened the doors to new possibilities, the wounds still remain: generations scarred by human rights violations and the deliberate fueling of sectarian divides. Truly rebuilding Syria entails more than physical reconstruction, it means restoring justice, trust, and coexistence.

In this committee, delegates will confront the human dimension of post-conflict recovery. They will explore mechanisms of transitional justice, societal reintegration, the restoration of civil rights, and the reconstruction of collective identity.

Can you heal a nation without erasing its scars? Join SOCHUM and help shape the foundations of a new and free Syria.
